Wombles storytime, crafts and 1973 reminiscence at Maidenhead Library
Maidenhead Library celebrates its 50th birthday this summer with a week of events, two of which feature the Wombles.
Wombles storytime, crafts and 1970s games
This afternoon is going to be jam packed with fun for the children. There will be stories, crafts, face painting and ice cream and a visit from The Wombles, who are also celebrating their 50th anniversary this year.
We will be holding a special Wombles storytime for our young and not so young residents to reminisce and enjoy. This will be followed by an opportunity to make your own Womble using recycled and sustainable craft materials.
We are also taking inspiration from the 1970’s ‘pet rock’ trend. Not only will attendees be able to create a pet rock, they can also decorate a house for it to make sure it gets home safely!
Try our 1970s games; show off your hula hooping skills, bounce around on space hoppers or have a go with a yoyo.
