Mike Batt at BFI Favourite BBC Children’s Characters
Mike Batt will be one of the guests at the Favourite BBC Children’s Characters event on Sunday 13 July, at the BFI in London.
The BFI will take you on a journey celebrating 60 years of the finest BBC children’s characters by screening episodes from shows such as Bagpuss, Bob The Builder, Teletubbies and Sarah And Duck, while introducing you to some of the characters themselves and the people who helped bring them to life.
This is a family-friendly opportunity to learn what happens behind the scenes on a popular TV show.
Other guests will include Derek Griffiths (Playschool, Sarah And Duck), Jamie Badminton (Sarah And Duck), Pui Fan Lee (Teletubbies) and Andrew Davenport (Teletubbies, In The Night Garden).
We’ll also find out the winners of the recent Radio Times poll to find a favourite character from each decade since the 50s.
Before the 1pm screening, there’s a Funday Workshop for children in the foyer from 11am. It will take you behind the scenes and explain how these magical characters were brought to life on the small screen. You can create your own TV characters and sketch out an episode of a TV show.
Tickets are on sale now from the BFI.
