Meet Haydon the Womble at Kidsfest 2012
AFC Wimbledon goalkeepers Seb Brown and Mikhael Jaimez-Ruiz will be joined by Mat Mitchel-King and Angus MacDonald at the Kidsfest children’s fun day at Merton Abbey Mills in Wimbledon.
The first-team quartet will be making an appearance from 2.30pm, along with coaches from AFC Wimbledon’s Community Football Scheme.
Of course, children can also meet club mascot Haydon the Womble, and there will be a chance to win tickets to an AFC Wimbledon home game.
Kidsfest is a special day solely dedicated to kids. The day offers something unique and inspirational for all ages. It’s a fantastic family day out and most importantly, the whole thing is free!
Merton Abbey Mills is given over to Kidsfest for a day of fun, exciting and innovative things for kids to participate in. These include great hands on workshops in art, crafts, pottery, music, drama, dancing, singing, balloon modelling, DJ skills and drumming.
There are soft play and storytelling areas, archaeological digging, relaxation sessions, kids’ fitness, rides, face painting and caricaturing. All these fun things together with visits from the animals at Deen City Farm, the local Fire Brigade, the Police and St John Ambulance ensures a superb community feeling focusing entirely on children.
To add to the excitement, the main stage on the bandstand at the heart of Merton Abbey Mills is home all day to great musical entertainment with performances by children and special guests with talent competitions, giveaways and a few surprises thrown in!
